Expedited Visa Appointment Policy
How to Request an Emergency Visa Interview Appointment
Visa interview appointments are available to citizens or residents of Equatorial Guinea at the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde, Cameroon on a walk-in basis. The U.S. Embassy in Cameroon is located at:
The United States Embassy in Cameroon
Avenue Rosa Parks
P.O. Box 817
Yaounde
Cameroon
Phone:(237) 220-15-00
Under certain emergency circumstances, applicants who cannot wait for a normal visa interview appointment or find it impossible to travel to Yaounde may request an expedited appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Malabo.
Emergencies include an unplanned and immediate urgent need to travel, such as a medical emergency, hospitalization, funeral, professional training, presentation in a conference, appearance in a U.S. court of law, or the imminent start of academic studies. Personal travel for pleasure and routine business travel to the U.S. do not meet the emergency appointment criteria.
Individuals needing an expedited appointment must first schedule a regular appointment by calling (240) 098895 from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday or email us at malaboconsular@state.gov (your request must include your name, purpose of your trip, and telephone number). If the available appointment falls after the required travel date AND the travel is urgent, applicants should submit a request by email at malaboconsular@state.gov for an expedite appointment. The request must include the following information:
1) Name:
2) Have you ever been refused a visa? (Yes/No):
3) If yes, when/where/what type of visa:
4) Phone No.:
5) Your slated appointment date/time:
6) Reason for expedite appointment (Funeral, Victim of Burn, Medical Urgency of the Applicant, Relative Hospitalized, Academic – Imminent Beginning, Participation in Congress, Professional Training, Urgency of Business):
7) Departure Date:
8) Number of persons traveling with you:
9) Briefly explain the nature of the emergency:
Notes
1- Keep in mind that an expedited interview appointment does not improve an applicant's chances of obtaining a U.S. visa. An expedited case simply results in an earlier appointment date for the visa interview. A humanitarian emergency is not grounds for the issuance of a U.S. visa; applicants applying for a non-immigrant visa must still prove they meet the requirements of the visa class in question.
2- Requests will not be considered if the applicant has not already scheduled an interview using the normal procedure.
3- Submit only one request per trip and per person. Submitting multiple requests for the same trip or individuals will only delay our response time, which is usually within 24 hours.
The Non-Immigrant Visa Section of the U.S. Embassy Malabo will no longer accept requests for emergency visa appointments via telephone or fax. For additional information regarding non-immigrant visas, please visit the Embassy’s website http://malabo.usembassy.gov/visa_services.html.
